Education and work experience:

Higher education (University degree or higher) in instrument, automation and control areas or in the relevant speciality and not less than 2 years of work experience as DCS Engineer

Main functions:

Instigate engineer test and commission of minor DCS PLC system based modifications ensuring KPO MOC procedure is followed, act as MOC change owner and incorporate all actions and relevant documentation are completed to close out MOC. Ensure maintenance and operation of Field-wide production Distributed Control Systems, stand-alone PLC based systems, automated fire and gas detection systems, automated fire extinguishing systems, emergency shutdown systems installed at the field. Carry out preventive inspections, tests and scheduled maintenance of control systems in accordance with the planned preventive maintenance SAP regime and the current operation. Maintain equipment to ensure constant operability and reliability according to controlling documents of RoK, Rules for Safe Operation of Customers' Electrical Installations, Rules for the Design and Operation of Electrical Installations, HSE and industrial safety requirements to ensure planned production volumes, quality of the product and safe production; Prepare and maintain DCS & PLC based equipment for safe continuous operation; carry out planned testing of Distributed Control Systems, Fire and Gas detection and Fire extinguishing systems, Emergency Shutdown system, equipment testing and diagnostics to identify defects; setup and configuration of individual DCS elements and units; Control and keep records of data bases, backups of operating configurations and operation regimes for DCS, PLC and other required technical documentation

Necessary knowledge and skills:

Principles of primary oil-and-gas treatment process technology and production; Appropriate detailed knowledge of control instrumentation, industrial equipment, process technology; Principles of pressure, temperature, fluid level, flow rate measurements; Instrument design and specification, function of specific blocks, operating rules – is preferable; Calibration methods for general types of instrumentation – is preferable; Design and specification of control systems, PLC, telemechanics, function of specific blocks, operating rules; Structure of automatic control system; Knowledge of Rules for Operation of Customers' Electrical Installations, Rules for the Design and Operation of Electrical Installations – is preferable; KPO HSE rules and procedures; Electrical facilities operation safety rules; Electrical facilities structure rules (up to 1000W); DCS equipment & Instrumentation maintenance manuals and instructions; DCS equipment & Instrumentation passports and manufacturer recommendations; Work packs and executive documentation of sites; Must be able to work well under pressure; Communication skills; Must be able to prioritise workloads; Must work well as part of a team and alone; Must be able to effectively manage time and resources; Must be calm, logical thinking and accurate; Must be able to read and understand logic diagrams logic flow sheets and cause and effects charts; Must understand the general process systems and the control methodologies applied at the KPO assets; Must have the ability to learn, share and utilise new knowledge.
