The Director performs the following duties and responsibilities:

1. organizes the Division’s activity to ensure strategic planning of the enrollment of applicants/candidates to study at the University under the following programs: Foundation, Undergraduate, Master’s and PhD programs (hereinafter – academic programs of the University). The above includes participation in educational exhibitions and conferences, organization of guest lectures by University lecturers and staff, and information sessions both within the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad. He/ she also coordinates NU Day format events and co-operates with external partners for joint recruitment events;

2. provides overall supervision of organizational and technical activities related to attracting/recruiting applicants/candidates to study under the academic programs of the University;

3. provides assistance to and collaborates with the Schools and respective structural units of the University on issues related to planning scholarships/grants for applicants/candidates of the University;

4. provides assistance to and collaborates with the Schools and respective structural units of the University on issues related to student retention;

5. ensures effective planning and monitoring of the Division’s budget;

6. timely develops a work plan and a report within the Division’s activities;

7. coordinates the implementation of the Division’s plan and makes proposals on the University Strategic plan;

8. analyses the Division’s activities to improve its performance;

9. makes decisions in identification, evaluation, management and monitoring of risks within the framework of supervised direction;

10. engages and coordinates the work of the university's ambassadors, and interacts with external agents to promote the university's academic programs both locally and internationally;

11. supervises and coordinates the activities of Applicants Support Center’s consultants;

12. makes proposals and participation in the development of normative legal acts, plans, programs and recommendations in the field of education, as well as regulatory documents of the University within the competence of the Division;

13. proves effective communications with the Schools and structural units of the University, state bodies, educational organizations, local and international partners on issues within the competence of the Division;

14. provides assistance to the Division employees in their professional development creating favorable conditions for their motivation and continuing professional development;     

15. coordinates the observance of the labor discipline by the Division employees;

16. timely and properly executes the tasks of the supervising Vice President and the University's management. 

Education:

• Higher education, preferably in education, management, international relations, marketing or other related fields, preferably from a higher educational institution with the English language of instruction.
• A Master’s degree.

Work experience:

• Minimum 7 (seven) years in the relevant field with at least three of them supervising people. 
• Minimum 5 (five) years with a PhD degree in the relevant area.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of education.
• Knowledge of and proficiency in English, Kazakh and Russian.
• High level of knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Recruitment and selection process
